Basic course sewing in 1 day - Monday May 20 '24 (ENGLISH)

Are you an absolute beginner in sewing? Do you really need some help getting started? Maybe the basic sewing course in 1 day is something you will like! 

 

For whom

This course is for the real beginner! Do you have a sewing machine, but a fear of starting to use it? Or do you have no idea how to thread it and get started? Then this course is exactly what you need! You will learn the basics about the sewing machine, fabrics, sewing patterns, fabric cutting and stitching. 

This course will be taught in English.

 

When 

Date:  Monday May 20 2024 (Whit Monday)

Tijd:  9.30 - 16.30 uur

What will you learn?

• Threading and using a sewing machine
• The basic principles of a sewing pattern
• How to pin and cut a sewing pattern to fabric and how to cut seam allowance
• Step by step sewing a shopper bag with front pocket and lining
• Lots of tips and tricks

 

After this day ...

... you feel confident to use your own sewing machine at home and start small sewing projects to practice your skills. For sure it will be a fun and enjoyable day!

You are welcome! There are 8 spots available. You can reserve your spot via the online shop. About 1,5 weeks before the start of the workshop you will receive a set of fabric samples from which you may choose fabrics to your liking.  

 

Costs

This workshops can be booked for €155,- per person.

These costs are including: 

• Coffee, tea and water
• A tasty lunch
• Fabrics and thread to sew the lined shopper bag
• Use of a sewing machine

Please note: the studio is easily accessible by public transport (5-10 minutes walk from Haarlem Station). Would you like to come by car? Unfortunately, you are not able to park in front of the door. We recommend to park your car at a ParkBee garage (Kennermerplein of Jansstraat). You can reserve a parking spot in advance.
